Who We Are

Our Pink Hearts Inc. is a Not-For-Profit 501c3 Breast Cancer Foundation and donations to us are tax deductible. We are professional licensed Fundraisers that aim to create exciting educational & healthy Outlets. We consider ourselves as the Navigators that use events to bridge the service gaps and eliminate disparities in underserved areas especially to our African American sisters and their families by infusing education with entertainment . We also are Survivors!

My Story

On August 15, 2013 I was diagnosed with Stage ll Breast Cancer , 2 days before my 50th birthday. Even though my diagnosis was considered early detection, all I heard was that I was going to die. I was devastated. I received a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. Going to work was next to impossible and my expenses suddenly increased drastically. I applied for disability and I was denied. I asked why am I being denied? The representative politely told me according to your medical records and test results, in a year you should be just fine, Ms. Sing. I replied, that’s good to hear, but that’s a year from now. I’m in need of assistance now. The surgery, chemo and radiation side effects are making it very difficult to hold down a job and even everyday maintenance and activity nearly impossible. What help can I receive now, when I need it the most? She said to me, research the foundations and charities that help people in your situation. That’s why they receive grants and you certainly qualify.

So I did just that. I found empowering foundations like the Sister Network and Tatisa C. Joiner Foundation and Cancer Support that helped me survive and thrive. It also empowered me to form Our Pink Hearts Inc., a Not-For-Profit 501c3! I want to give back, share the life saving things that I learned. I also wanted to help others navigate through the health care system and bridge the service gaps in underserved areas that cause disparities and I believe contribute to  African American women having the highest mortality rate with breast cancer even tho we are diagnosed less often than our counterparts.

I truly enjoy helping others benefit from all the loving care and knowledge that helped me come from being a cancer victim to a Survivor. But I can’t do it alone on my pink journey. At Our Pink Hearts, we believe in the power of collaborative marketing and attaching your name to worthy causes like helping breast cancer victims and their families, as I feel mine was.  Remember, 1 out of 8 women and 1 in 1000 men will be diagnosed and 40,000 will die with Breast Cancer. I understand, together as partners, we can have a positive impact on families. I thank you so much for your time and consideration and appreciate your thoughts.

From my “pink heart” to yours,
